There was a time where I struggled to always capture the right colours whenever I painted outdoors. I know now that that I’m a painter and not a camera. There really is no need to be precise about what colours you use.
The relation between colours and correct values is what carries a good painting.
Here my post continues after I reprimand the kids downstairs… sigh.
(continues after a 2 month reprimand, I know, I’m a bit severe)
As you can see freedom is found in the colours. Your brain loves to work and make sense of what it sees. Red sky, lilac barn and golden fields. Makes perfect sense. Now imagine this as a photograph with a normal blue sky etc…
Totally boring.
